The 2026 NECO SSCE results are out, and the result checking portal is now the busiest site NECO runs all week. If you have been refreshing the page without luck, are not sure which token to buy, or just want to check your result correctly the first time, this guide walks you through it.

NECO began releasing the June/July SSCE (Internal) results in the first week of September, rolling them out centre by centre rather than all at once. If you have not seen yours yet, that is almost always the reason — not a withheld result.

What you need before you start

Three things, and you cannot check without all of them:

• Your NECO registration/examination number. Printed on your registration slip and photo card.
• The examination year and type — 2026, SSCE Internal (June/July).
• A NECO result checker token — a PIN and serial number bought specifically for checking. Unlike JAMB, NECO does not let you check with just your registration number. One token covers up to five (5) checks, so it is enough for you and a couple of classmates.

How to check your NECO result, step by step

1. Go to the official portal: results.neco.gov.ng. This is the only site that returns a real result — ignore any other site promising to "check it faster."
2. Select SSCE Internal as the examination type and 2026 as the year.
3. Enter your registration/examination number carefully. A single wrong digit is the most common cause of "result not found."
4. Enter the PIN and serial number from your result checker token.
5. Click Check Result. Your full subject-by-subject breakdown appears on screen.
6. Screenshot it, and save or print it if the option is offered. You have five checks on the token — do not waste them reloading a result you could have saved the first time.

No data? You can also check by SMS. Type NECO*2026*[your PIN]*[your exam number] and send it to 32327. A small service charge (roughly ₦50) is deducted from your airtime for the query, so make sure you have enough credit before you send it — a failed query on a low balance still costs you one of your five checks.

Why the portal fails on result day (and what to do)

Almost every "my result is not showing" message this week is one of these, not a withheld result:

• Your centre's batch is not uploaded yet. NECO releases results centre by centre, not nationally in one go. Wait 24–48 hours and try again — a failed lookup for this reason does not use up a check.
• Wrong registration number. Check your photo card again, digit by digit.
• Wrong year or exam type selected. Selecting the wrong diet returns nothing at all.
• Token already exhausted. Five checks is the limit, shared across everyone who uses that token. A sixth attempt fails even though the PIN looks fine.
• Token bought from an unverified reseller. Used, recycled, or fake tokens are the single most common way candidates lose money on result day.

Buying a result checker token safely

Result week is also the busiest week of the year for people selling tokens that do not work. A few rules that cost nothing to follow:

• Buy from a platform, not a person. A DM in a WhatsApp group leaves you with no way to recover your money if the token turns out to be used.
• Check that the token is delivered instantly and in writing — on screen and saved to your transaction history, so it is still there if your network drops mid-purchase.
• Never send money before seeing the token. A legitimate platform issues it the moment payment clears, not "after confirmation."
• Be suspicious of anything unusually cheap. A token priced far below what everyone else charges is a common sign it has already been used.
