MTN airtime converts to cash in three steps and lands in your wallet in a few minutes. Here is the current rate, the limit per transfer, and the whole process.
Today's MTN rate
ABS Vendor is currently paying 85% of the airtime you convert — send ₦1,000 in airtime, receive ₦850 in your wallet. Agents get a better 88%.
This is a live rate, read from the same catalogue the conversion page uses, and it can move without notice — check the airtime-to-cash page for what is current before you send anything.
How to convert MTN airtime to cash
- Open the airtime-to-cash page and pick MTN.
- Enter the amount you want to convert — between ₦1,000 and ₦10,000 per transfer. No cap on how many times you do this.
- Send the airtime the way the page instructs (a transfer PIN dial code, on MTN).
- Your wallet credits once MTN confirms the transfer — usually within a few minutes, occasionally up to 20 while the network catches up.
From your wallet you can withdraw to any Nigerian bank account, or spend it directly on data, airtime and electricity without ever touching a bank.
If it has not landed after 20 minutes
- Check your transaction history first. A transfer that reached us but is still confirming shows as pending, not missing.
- Confirm you sent the transfer, not a purchase. Airtime-to-cash uses MTN's transfer code, not the recharge code — sending the wrong one moves nothing.
- Check the amount matched what you entered. A part-transfer (interrupted mid-dial) can leave MTN holding a different figure than the page expected.
- Still nothing? Message us on WhatsApp with the time you sent it and we will trace the transfer.
Is this safe?
ABS Vendor is operated by ABS Real Digital Services Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria (RC 8025758) and NCC-licensed for Sales and Installation of Terminal Equipment (CL/S&I/0068/2026). The rate you are shown is the rate you are paid, and every conversion leaves a receipt in your transaction history.
Questions people ask
Do I need an account?
Yes, a free one — it is where the cash lands and where your conversion history and receipts live.
Can I convert more than once a day?
Yes, as many times as you like, each between ₦1,000 and ₦10,000.
Does the rate change by amount converted?
No — one flat rate per network, shown before you confirm. Agents see a separate, better rate once verified.
What if I send the wrong amount?
You are credited for what MTN actually confirms receiving, not what you intended to send — double-check the amount before dialling.
